I recently came across the the following statistics from The Psoriasis Education Program (www.psoriasisinfo.ca):

94% of psoriasis sufferers said the disease affected their overall quality of life

81% said that their work, school and leisure activities have been significantly affected

71% are unsatisfied with current treatment

86% said that their personal and social life has been markedly affected

95% are willing to try new treatments

Combine the fact that 1 and 30 people in Canada (roughly one million) have some form of psoriasis and we get a pretty ugly picture of how this chronic skin condition affects peoples lives.
